She went to Holy Trinity School and grew up in the Holy Trinity Parish where she and her mother Irene would sing at the Polish Mass. She was an Academy Graduate of the Class of 1942. Florence worked at Halle Bros. John Lutheran Day Care Care Center. She taught Polish Dancing at the Polish National Alliance Club for many years. Florence was involved with the original Polish Hour with the late Peter Garnowski. She was a former Parishioner at St. John the Baptist Church where she was a choir member and a devout Catholic. Her favorite pastime was watching WQLN and listening to her Polish Music, and looking forward to attending Polish functions. It was very important to Florence to carry on Polish Traditions especially at Christmas, when she always loved to be with her family. She loved collecting Angel figurines, and encouraging her grandchildren to play and listen to music. Her grandchildren will always rember her kindness and love when they needed to be there with her after school. She was preceded in death by her husbands Capt. Szatkowski DDS and John W. Nowak, a daughter Katherine Szatkowski Skorski, a son in law Det. David Bradley, sisters Teresa Englert and Ann Chrzczon and a brother Thomas Borkowski. Survivors include a daughter Michelle Szatkowski Bradley of Erie, a son James E. Nowak and wife Tracey of Erie, a son in law Jan Skorski of Charleston S. Friends may call at the Carl A.
